decisions...decisions...

so i found out today that the art institute that is in Salt Lake now has a photography program and im pretty stoked because at one time i was going to the one in Denver and now i have this option, sooo here is my decision, i either go the the U of U which would be cheaper but less focused on photography or i could go to the art institute and do basically just a crapload of photography stuff which i really really want. My mom and I are going to an open house on monday to see what its all about...i hate making these decisions haha i thought i was finished with this when i graduated high school :S hehe oh welllll

because i can :)

So when I really bored and slightly artistic I set up my camera with a self timer and take pictures of myself...think of it as getting what i want with the materials i have. I love editing photos and ive been told that i have an "urban outfitters" approach to pictures that have models included.

Oregon and a New Semester

These are some older photos i took with my Nikon D40 over the summer during a family vacation to the Oregon Coast. It's one of my favorite places on earth and there are so many photo opportunities. :]
I probably wont be posting anything new for a little bit...this semester is a little more hectic for me and its only the second day lol but i do have a special problems photography course so you definately will be seeing some more advanced stuff plus some of the art that i will be attempting in my painting and advertising illustration classes.

Rebecca

This is my good friend Rebecca that I always take pictures of, she does such an amazing job with the "serious" look. These images were taken in Helper, Utah with my new Nikon D90, these were also edited with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, I plan on getting Lightroom soon because i love it so much more but Elements does a descent job for sure.

Something Old Something Brand Spankin New...

Helper Utah is really one of my favorite places to take pictures, it's filled with so much history and art but it still hasn't reached the tourist trap status. Previously i have been using the Nikon D40 6 Megapixel DSLR (I'm a huge Nikon fan). Luckily for this Christmas my amazing parents surprised me with the brand spanking new Nikon D90 (so new the "how to" books for it don't come out until february and march). These pictures above and from now on will be taken with this camera, it is a 12 megapixel DSLR with a Nikkor lens that has VR as well. needless to say i am stoked and more than happy to know that my parents believe in my ability to make this my career :]. The results are fantastic, there were some glitches but it was due to my lack of knowledge of suck a ballin camera haha.
From now on I'm going to try and keep my blog up to date so look out for new stuff!

Bathtime

Oh man i love this picture...it was bathtime in the kitchen sink at Grandmas and this great shot came out of it.
