Endgame

I am the staff photographer of the CEU newspaper The Eagle, it was really cool being asked to do this during the semester because my images, as impromptu they may be, are able to be seen campus wide and by whoever else reads the newspaper. I won't lie to you though, sometimes the things i have to take pictures for really dont interest me haha let's just say that i totally avoid sports and leave that to other people on the staff that actually care. This assignment was a little different, the theatre department is an outrageously talented part of CEU, everytime i walk into the geary theatre it makes me regret not pursuing it like i used to. Anyways i was asked to take the pictures for the article they are doing about the next production happening in the next week or so, Endgame by Samuel Beckett. I had to read the play for a class once and its really a great, confusing, and interesting productiong, i would really suggest going to it because the set looks awesome and i know they actors are amazing. Anyways the director already had this great shot in mind and thanks to the lighting crew the lights turned out great. You can always depend on actors to get right into character even when its just for a photo.

Truck

Here's another shot from my trip with the family down to the desert and Hondu Arch. This truck was by far my most favorite thing to take pictures of the whole trip. It always makes me wonder when i see cars like this why they are left behind, it makes the desert that much more interesting to me. This was taken with my D90 with manual settings at 1/125 and f10 with an ISO of 200.

old cars and uranium mines

What a great Saturday! Amber, Jason, and the baby came down for the weekend so we decided to head to the desert on saturday for a good time and some awesome photo opportunities.

We found a lot of old cars, mines and just great landscape shots and it was really just a good time. All of these shots were taken with my D90 most fully manual. My favorite shot would have to be the one of the old yellow car, it was pretty scavaged through but i managed to find a handle to call my own. All of these areas are located in Southern Utah near I-70, what a beautiful place!
