So its finally here! the photo to begin the photo chain, so if you want it print if off or i can e-mail it to you.

I really love taking photos, it makes me so happy when i can take a picture of something people usually dont look at or when they look at it it's nothing out of the ordinary. This picture was taken in south price while i was looking for numbers for my perpetual photo wall calendar. I edited it in Photoshop and gave it the vintage fisheye look that it has because i really love that look. I've learned that with photography you really have to practice and understand that it takes practice and critique before you can become the photographer you want to be. It drives me nuts when people dont understand that.:]

Candle Light

As a photography major i got the oppurtunity to have what is called a special problems class, its basically an advanced photography class where the teacher and I focus in on what i really want to learn. One of the first assignments i was given was one where the only light i could use was candle light, it was a really nice assignment though because i was able to really practice fully manual photos in a controlled lighting situations. These pictures were taken with my Nikon D90 fully manual at an F stop of 5.6 and a shutter speed of around 60 depending on how much lighting i was using. Once again Courtney did an amazing job and we only set the fire alarm off twice..maybe three times.

My next assignment is "My Bloody Valentine" haa right up my alley, i will be doing that shoot around thursday, along with that im going to start doing my continuous wall calendar which im pretty excited about :] by then i should have the photo up for the beginning of the photo chain.

Update with the Art Institute is that I got my acceptance letter last week! and now all i have to do is figure out financial aide etc. Then im moving to Draper in either July or October depending on which quarter i decide to start on then im on my way to being a professional :]

Photo Chain!!

So my new obsession is photography podcasts and my most favorite is called This Week In Photography (TWIP) in their most rescent episode they did an interview with the CEO of a company called photojojo where they come up with DIY projects involving your own photos and ways to display them etc. sooooo here's the best idea! i'm going to start a photo chain!! what happens is i am going to take the first photo and if you want to be involved e-mail me at kossphoto@hotmail.com or comment me here and i will email you the photo, from there you will have to take a photo of that photo somewhere else and thus the chain continues with however many people you want to get involved! when you take the photo you have to e-mail it back to me so i can keep track of it... this could be awesome! when you pass the chain on to others please give them my email so i can keep track of everything...the photo will be posted in the next couple of days when i can get a photo of something great :]

Tammy Favorites

This is Tammy :] She is going into the army pretty soon and decided that she wanted to do a shoot which i was so excited for! we actually hit a lot of my favorite photo shoot spots around Price but what made the shoot so nice was her style and the different personality to brought to it. She's such a cute girl that is totally going to kick ass in the army!
